We are surrounded by over a thousand acres of Crown Land and the avid hunter will find not only plenty of small game, such as partridge, grouse and duck, but also the bigger game of bear and moose. We offer guided Black Bear hunting packages with sites on both crown land and private property, some sites via motor vehicle and others by boat only. For the 'Photographer Hunter', the wildlife throughout the area also includes red fox, raccoon, beaver, otter, rabbits, many different species of birds and much more!

Nestled among the majestic Northern Pines are our 9 log cabins that blend well into the wilderness which surrounds us. Previously established by the God Father of Bears, who brought many successful years of hunting to the area, Roger's Bear Den Lodge is your location for the hunt of a lifetime. Fall Hunting: Ducks, Moose, Deer. We are located on the centre of three WMUS. Districts 46, 47 and 49. The Banks of the forests with rock ridges and many swamps (natural and beaver ponds). This makes for excellent habitat for both deer and moose. We are situated on the southern boundary of the moose habitat so you will find both moose and deer in our hunting areas. The moose prefer the low swampy areas while the deer are fond on the higher ground where they use the rock ridges to travel from one place to another. Partridge and Small Game - The partridge and rabbits are plentiful in our area so you can enjoy an afternoon of shooting while you are big game hunting to make your hunting vacation with us that much more memorable. Black bear hunting is a time honored family tradition at Moose Horn Lodge. Since 1957, Moose Horn Lodge has been host to very satisfied hunting enthusiasts which acknowledge the bear hunting expertise that we have developed. Moose Horn Lodge is 10 miles from the Chapleau Crown Game Preserve which is the biggest game preserve in the world. Hunting at Camp Missanabie is truly a sportsman's paradise. We limit the number of hunters per week and per season to make every effort to ensure a quality hunt. Hunting areas are located on the edge of the Chapleau Game Preserve. Bear hunting at Camp Missanabie includes the use of a boat and motor for two hunters in the party. Access to bait station by boat or ATV are available. Includes accommodations; personal guides to baited area; baited area assigned based on physical needs or weapon selection; daily bait; daily boat gas; over 300 square kilometers of bear country on the edge of the Chapleau Game Preserve; all hunts are fair chase hunts; assistance with retrieval of downed animal; freezer service; and clean, screened accommodations for process. The Algoma District has one of the highest concentrations of Black Bears in Ontario. We bait well in advance of the hunt to ensure a high success rate. When the successful hunter is done processing his or her bear, we have freezers to store the meat until the trip home. To ensure a healthy population of Black Bears, only a limited number of hunters are taken each week.

Fall - All our bear hunts are baited weeks in advance. We are specialists in this field with years of experience and have a good success rate of bear taken with bow or gun. Black Bear Hunting in Canada. We are located on the border of the Chapleau Crown Game Preserve. As a result, we have the best Black Bear, Moose, Wolf, Ruffed & Spruce Grouse hunting in Canada. Our trophy lake has great fishing for Walleye, Northern Pike, Smallmouth Bass and Brook Trout as well as Lake Trout in other drive-to lakes.
